One Quick Addendum!

One thing I want to add to my last post!

While I am all about healthy, yummy, clean eating, I am totally not anti-treats! Um, Christmas is not Christmas without peanut butter balls! Even though they have peanut butter (legumes) and sugar–they are delicious, and they have all of 4 ingredients. This does mean I will probably avoid these babies:

Don’t get me wrong, these were my most favorite things in the world growing up, but have you looked at the ingredients?! There are fewer chemical in Windex—for real! I truly believe in having balance in life–there is a time for broccoli and a time for chocolate! For me, as long as I avoid gluten, I can eat desserts without crazy repercussions. However, if your tummy is a lean, mean, gluten digesting machine, by all means have some cake! However, don’t make it a Hostess cupcake that is so preserved it will still be edible in 15 years!Β  Also, once you remove highly processed foods and eat REAL food, these oreos are actually going to taste awful–I know, it sounds impossible, but it is 100% true.

Ok. That is all. Also, I would like to remind every one that frosting is gluten free. I am actually planning to have that carved on my tombstone.

  2. OMG, I saw you pinned some peanut butter cups awhile back and wondered how to make it paleo, well the secret is sunbutter instead of PB! I made some sunbutter cups for a prego friend when she was going through a reeses obsession and she loved them! They were really good and if you love PB cups, they make an awesome replacement. I can’t remember the recipe exactly but I think I just mixed some melted coconut oil, honey and sunbutter, then melted chocolate chips (enjoy life -GF, DF, SF), poured that into the lined muffin tins, stick in freezer and then fill with the sunbutter mixture. You definitely have to give these a shot!! πŸ™‚

  3. Double-stuffed Oreos are my weakness. They are full of junk, but so, so good. I also am obsessed with Trader Joe’s peppermint Joe-Joes….delicious!

  4. I have never had one of those Oreos before (I’ve only had the normal one), but the look pretty darn good πŸ™‚

  5. I could not agree more! I try to stay away from the absolute junk and make treats homemade that I feel better about.

  6. Frosting is gluten free? THAT’S WONDERFUL! I totally love that!
