Christmas is not about the gifts….kind of :)

Christmas has been absolutely incredible, and it is not even over! We have had our St. Louis Christmas and one of our Louisville Christmases. We will have our final celebration (with my sister, brother-in-law, and grandmother tonight!).

We had a wonderful birthday celebration for Mumsie. We went to Ruth’s  Chris Steakhouse. In previous years, I have been a die-hard vegetarian, thus I have not reaped the benefits of this lovely locale. This year was AMAZING. I enjoyed my steak and the company even more.

We enjoyed quality time with my parents. Love it.

And enjoyed gifting Mumsie with a chocolate brown Coach purse so we can be purse twins.

It was so fun to celebrate my mom and eat delicious food!

While I fully understand that Christmas is so much more than the gifts, I got some pretty great ones. Here are some of my faves:

Aunt Patty gave me the most amazing vintage cookbook:

I am SO excited to read this baby like a chapter book. Chase is going to have a very tasty 2012.

Chase gave me several incredible gifts:

THE MARSHMELLOW GUN! I was totally kidding when I blogged about wanting one of these, but now that I have it, I must admit it is AWESOME.

He also gave me a hilarious DVD of Kevin James’ comedy routine. I LOVE Kevin James (Paul Blart Mall cop and Hitch both kill me).

He also gave me a lifetime supply of caramels. Totally not Paleo, but I totally love them!

Mumsie totally came through on the Banana Republic coat and sweater. Love them!

She also has completely enabled my shoe addiction. I received beautiful shooties:

And the most incredible pair of blue polka dot high heels. Love them!

I loved all of my gifts, but these are my recent faves!

What is the best gift you got for Christmas?

Did you get any shoes?!?!

Who is your favorite comedian?

Clearly, we are REALLY on the same page, because  Chase gifted me with the Kevin James Comedy DVD, meanwhile, I gave him tickets to see a comedy show in Philly in January.

We will be seeing Kathleen Madigan.

We are both excited because she is hilarious.

  1. Love the shoes!! Natalie has a pair similar to the gray booties and they are adorable. Comedy shows are so much fun, though I don’t have a favorite comedian. Kevin James is absolutely hilarious–you’ll have a blast!

  2. Love it! Damien and I adore comedy, and that Kevin James skit is hilarious. We are the people that DVR Last Comic Standing and all of the stand up on Comedy Central. We have Aziz Ansari in the DVR as we speak… Those shoes are too adorable! Loving the polka dots 🙂

I can’t pick a favorite comedian, but I do love Kevin Hart. My favorite gift this year was an Amazon Kindle Fire, I am in love!

    • Aziz Ansari KILLS me! Chase has gotten me hooked on Parks and Recreation. I think my goal for 2012 is to watch more comedy shows! They are just so enjoyable! Sometimes I forget how important it is to REALLY laugh!

  5. I bought a really really nice camera about a month ago and asked my parents to contribute whatever they wanted for Christmas … well, they paid for the WHOLE thing!!! I was excited!!!

THEN, my mom gave me some peony bulbs to plant in the spring. They are only my favorite flower EVER.

I’m obsessed with your shoes. Please, relocated to New Orleans so we can share! I promise I have some cute ones to contribute!!

    • Aw! Your parents sound awesome. I LOVE peony’s too! They smell so yummy (and are completely gorgeous!).

I would LOVE to share a closet with you! I just need New Orleans to create a Naval hospital and then we can move there. This whole husband in the Navy thing is a bit difficult to work around. 🙂 🙂

Looks like Santa treated you VERY well this year! Glad to see you had a great Christmas with your family! Especially that vintage cookbook 😀

The best thing that I got for Christmas would probably be my foam roller– I just rolled around in my living room for a solid 20 minutes and have never felt more like Gumby

  12. I love it when I get gifts that say “I really know you” seems like those are the kinds of gifts that you got this year! AWESOME! …..I got some great workout clothes from the husband! He knows I can’t wait to come home and get out of my school clothes and into something I love!

    • I completely agree! As “trivial” as the caramels were, I loved them because it showed me that Chase “knows” me so stinking well! 🙂 It sounds like your husband is the same! Love it!

  17. It looks like you had a jolly fun Christmas. You have good taste with the Banana Republic stuff, I grabbed a few of their items when I popped over to the US several years ago.

Best gift I got was probably Halo Anniversary (I am such a child).
    I didn’t get any shoes.
My favourite standup comedian is probably Billy Connolly.
