This Weekend: In a nutshell

This weekend was the first weekend in over a month that we have actually been home–craziness, right?  We flirted with the possibility of doing a down-and-back trip to Bethesda to see houses on Saturday, but decided for the sake of our sanity to take the weekend off of house hunting.

While I was hoping it would be a relaxing weekend, it turns out I had a million paper to review 12 hours yesterday and 6 more hours this afternoon–YUCK.

Does anyone else have trouble finding a good balance between work/life/family/friends/FUN?!

Despite the buckets of work, I did have time to squeeze in some quality fun time:

1) Date night with Chase:

Unfortunately, my date was being camera shy. I think he was actually trying to take a move straight out of the Suri Cruise handbook:

I, on the other hand, was TOTALLY pumped:

Um, can you blame me? Who wouldn’t be stoked to have Don Pablo’s for dinner?!

Fajitas make me very happy…especially after hours of grading papers…it is the small things, right?

2) Today, the bright spot of my day was going to my first ever blogger meet-up!!!

I was able to meet and hang-out with the lovely Pamcakes and Coffee and For the Sake of Cake:

And Jimmy Choos on the Treadmill!

I kind of felt like I was meeting celebrities. 🙂

It was so much fun to meet everyone! Bloggy friends are the best!

Unfortunately, I did not get to shop for very long because I had to work this afternoon, but it was a wonderful treat!

Have you ever had a blogger meet-up?

What was your favorite part of the weekend?

Does Mexican food make you happy?

About paleorunnergirl

I am obsessed with cooking, running and reading! I teach American Literature at the college level, but enjoy books of all kind! After years of GI issues and being prescribed numerous medications, I found perfection in eating Paleo! I am no longer bloated, nauseous, or miserable on a daily basis. I have delved into creating Paleo recipe-making and embracing an active and playful life!

  2. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mexican food! I swear I could eat nachos, burritos, and tacos every night of my life 🙂 I’m shocked that I haven’t yet had AUTHENTIC Mexican food since moving to AZ. That might have to change soon; your Mexican food is looking mighty tasty.

I think my favorite part of the weekend was finishing up my intense 3 week course! I finally have my weekends back to enjoy 🙂

  4. I could eat mexican nearly every day and be very happy. Fajitas are the best and easy to make paleo. Meetups look so fun! I’ve never had one and am not sure how many bloggers are from my area but I would love to do one someday.

…..It is such a hard balance to fit everything in! From the sounds of things, it doesn’t get any better 😉 Hahaha! I bet we’ll get it figured out some day! Till then, we will do our best being spread thin.

    • It is so fun to actually meet the “real” person! It is also trippy because you keep referring the things that everyone has posted about!! So fun!

I love that you used to just eat the taco bowl! That totally sounds like something I would do!
