This Weekend: In a nutshell

This weekend was the first weekend in over a month that we have actually been home–craziness, right?  We flirted with the possibility of doing a down-and-back trip to Bethesda to see houses on Saturday, but decided for the sake of our sanity to take the weekend off of house hunting.

While I was hoping it would be a relaxing weekend, it turns out I had a million paper to review 12 hours yesterday and 6 more hours this afternoon–YUCK.

Does anyone else have trouble finding a good balance between work/life/family/friends/FUN?!

Despite the buckets of work, I did have time to squeeze in some quality fun time:

1) Date night with Chase:

Unfortunately, my date was being camera shy. I think he was actually trying to take a move straight out of the Suri Cruise handbook:

I, on the other hand, was TOTALLY pumped:

Um, can you blame me? Who wouldn’t be stoked to have Don Pablo’s for dinner?!

Fajitas make me very happy…especially after hours of grading papers…it is the small things, right?

2) Today, the bright spot of my day was going to my first ever blogger meet-up!!!

I was able to meet and hang-out with the lovely Pamcakes and Coffee and For the Sake of Cake:

And Jimmy Choos on the Treadmill!

I kind of felt like I was meeting celebrities. 🙂

It was so much fun to meet everyone! Bloggy friends are the best!

Unfortunately, I did not get to shop for very long because I had to work this afternoon, but it was a wonderful treat!

Have you ever had a blogger meet-up?

What was your favorite part of the weekend?

Does Mexican food make you happy?

About paleorunnergirl

I am obsessed with cooking, running and reading! I teach American Literature at the college level, but enjoy books of all kind! After years of GI issues and being prescribed numerous medications, I found perfection in eating Paleo! I am no longer bloated, nauseous, or miserable on a daily basis. I have delved into creating Paleo recipe-making and embracing an active and playful life!

  1. I had so much fun this afternoon! I’m glad we were all able to meet!

  2. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mexican food! I swear I could eat nachos, burritos, and tacos every night of my life 🙂 I’m shocked that I haven’t yet had AUTHENTIC Mexican food since moving to AZ. That might have to change soon; your Mexican food is looking mighty tasty.

I think my favorite part of the weekend was finishing up my intense 3 week course! I finally have my weekends back to enjoy 🙂

    • Oh goodness- you HAVE to find some authentic Mexican and blog about it and make all of us drool!!! I bet you will be able to find some insane salsa in AZ!

I am glad you are done with your course! It is always nice when you can actually relax on the weekends!

  3. Mexican food makes me insanely happy! Especially if margaritas are involved!

  4. I could eat mexican nearly every day and be very happy. Fajitas are the best and easy to make paleo. Meetups look so fun! I’ve never had one and am not sure how many bloggers are from my area but I would love to do one someday.

    • I totally agree–I don’t think I could ever get sick of it! It is also SO easy to find Paleo options which is amazing.

We totally need to arrange a meet-up. Next time we head up to Rockport I am going to try my darndest to work something out with ya! 🙂

  5. I am seriously *so* jealous of your meet up! I’m suggesting that next time you let me tag along via Skype 😉
…..It is such a hard balance to fit everything in! From the sounds of things, it doesn’t get any better 😉 Hahaha! I bet we’ll get it figured out some day! Till then, we will do our best being spread thin.

    • Julie–we will TOTALLY skype you into the next bloggy meet-up!!! Are you sure you and the husband don’t want to plan a vacation to DC this summer?! You can stay in one of our million guest rooms!!! (However, I will make you “pay” by helping me pick paint colors….) 🙂 🙂

  6. How fun that you got to do a meet-up!!! I love mexican food. I can’t help it, but i love the chips and salsa pregame the most!! It’s so good when you’re starving!

  7. LOVE Mexican food and miss it out here – Green Mole Enchiladas please!
Wish I had got to meet you as well! SOMEDAY! xox

  8. Yay that is so fun about the meet up! I have met a few bloggers in real life and it is just so awesome seeing the blogger in person 🙂 And yes to Mexican food… I used to always get taco salads and just eat the bowl (well a bit of the salad too) but now i like tacos!

    • It is so fun to actually meet the “real” person! It is also trippy because you keep referring the things that everyone has posted about!! So fun!

I love that you used to just eat the taco bowl! That totally sounds like something I would do!

  9. No blogger meetups for me yet! I wanted to go to the blendretreat in Colorado this may but unfortunately i dont think im going to get to make it! Wah, im sad! And i would totoally feel like im meeting celebrities honestly.
Mexican food makes me HAPPY. i love cheesy and gooey and deliciousness!

    • I totally want to travel across the country and just arrange bloggy meet-ups in every state–I am SUCH a nerd! 🙂

I am glad Mexican food makes you happy too! The cheesy goodness is where it is at!

  10. Fajitas make me happy too, well, I guess they’re more fajita salads for me, lol. I met a TON of bloggy friends last year at fitbloggin last year. It was so much fun to meet IRL.

  11. I had a great time!! Have a good week! 🙂

  12. Kim @ Eat, Live, and Blog

I love mexican food, especially fish tacos and chips and salsa!
I’ve never been to a blogger meet up before. It looks like fun though! 🙂

  13. Sounds like a fun meet up! I have never met any bloggers but you would definitely be at the top of my list – a paleo lunch + bargain shopping? Yes, please!

Oh, and mexican food is my absolute favorite food! That is why I can’t get enough of mexican inspired cauliflower rice and paleo enchiladas! Soo good!
