Paleo-ish Day of Eats

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for no posting as of late. There has been quite a bit going on over here! Probably the BEST thing happening is the weather–Spring has SPRUNG!!!

It is officially maxi-dress season–wooohooo!

Lately I am in a bit of a meal rut–however, I love what I am eating. If it is not broken, don’t fix it, right?

My regular breakfast is looking a lot like this:

Lots of water, mashed sweet potatoes, and Trader Joe’s applesauce (not the whole jar…)

For lunches, I have been totally loving Green Smoothies.  I think the warm weather has definitely made it all the more tasty!

Green Smoothie (Coconut milk, frozen banana, cinnamon and spinach) + drizzles of coconut butter = DELICIOUS!

My favorite snacks of late are the following:

Almonds and Raisins = salty and sweet



Pickles straight from the jar (yes, I took this picture in my car…I was running errands and saw pickles at the grocery store and needed to eat one IMMEDIATELY after getting into the car….no judgment people).

And, of course,

Trader Joe’s Kettle corn…so good!

Dinners have been many variations of the same theme:

Grilled chicken on salads–lately I have been loving a drizzle of balsamic vinegar or balsamic reduction in place of dressing–so yummy!  I keep expecting to get sick of chicken, but so far it has not happened.


What meals have you been loving lately? Does anyone else get in “happy” meal ruts? Do you feel the need to change it up?

  1. I totally get in happy meal ruts! I eat egg whites, pineapple and broccoli almost every day. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of them!

  4. I actually love meal ruts… but I also LOVE cooking. Lately it’s been lentil & quinoa variations! So good!

  5. Mmm I love that Trader Joe’s kettle corn too… nice choice! I have been loving smoothies recently! now that the weather is getting warm, they are making an appearance once again 🙂

  6. happy meal ruts = sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts and kale.

    and yay for warm weather!! although, it never got below 35 degrees this past winter 😦 lol

  7. Whew! For a second I thought you chopped off your hair (only half of the picture loaded and it looked like you had a bob!). Trader Joe’s Kettle Corn is so addicting…love it!

  8. I am definitely a meal rut person… but usually I don’t mind because if I’m in a rut, it’s because I really like to eat something. I try to switch up some things (i.e., eating salad for breakfast, focus on adding different ingredients to make it slightly different). I love dill pickles, too!

    • I have never tried eating salad for breakfast–it sounds so illicit! I am going to have to try it! Also, I am glad that you are a fellow pickle lover! Chase HATES them and makes so much fun of me for eating pickles out of the jar.

  9. I definitely feel perfectly content in food “ruts” sometimes! Actually, I’m currently stuck on overnight oats!

  10. I’m on a green smoothie for breakfast kick! Also, I’m currently addicted to avocados on everything.

  11. I hardly ever get in meal ruts for dinner because Louis gets depressed if we have the same meal more than one night running (I know – he’s a fragile soul). HOWEVER I get in total lunch ruts and – right before we left the UK – I was having hummus and broccoli practially EVERY day. I also am on a total banana and almond butter (x2) breakfast streak at the moment… love sooooooo much!

  12. I am in a meal rut too..but a bad one! I dont want to eat anything in the house…boo! I guess it’s time to surf the web for inspiration!

    But that salad… now that’s something I could eat!

  13. Hard boiled eggs, blueberries or strawberries, and almonds. Every day. Dinner’s usually the only meal where I can be a little creative. Sometimes it’s boring, but I just have to remind myself it’s fuel for my body and it will satisfy me.

  15. Food ruts are my version of food heaven!! I have to try your breakfast, I bought these sweet potatoes and haven’t known what to do with them…mash with applesauce sounds perfect!
