Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My weekend was a blend of grading dozens of papers, hanging out with our amazing little brother, travel and two very exciting events!
FRIDAY:
On Friday night, we had “Dinner and a movie” with out little brother. He was showing us his dance moves before the movie–the boy has skills! (If you have ever thought of joining Big Brothers Big Sisters, DO IT!).
We rented the movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”
Does anyone else get REALLY emotionally engrossed in KID movies? I literally wanted to cry at certain parts. It definitely tapped into those middle school trauma memories! 🙂
SATURDAY:
Saturday was stuffed to the brim with paper grading. I squeezed in a run, but other than that, the entire day was work. However, I let myself come up for air and take a couple hours off on Saturday night to go to this event:
We went to our first live “real/famous comedian” show EVER. We drove down to Philly to see the show and it was hilarious. If you have never seen Kathleen’s stand-up, it streams on Netflix’s Instant Queue, so you need to go watch it ASAP!
SUNDAY
On Sunday Chase and I drove down to DC and actually made the most adult life decision ever…WE PUT AN OFFER ON A HOUSE.
This House:
Do not worry, it has a SUN ROOM
It also has a GAS stove (Woohoo!), tons of cabinet space in the kitchen, an adorable office with lots of windows, and the neighborhood is simply darling.
We then did all of the official stuff:
We signed around 1000 papers.
Confession: I may have gone to LOFT and bought an “I’m Going To Buy A House” outfit on Thursday. I decided that this weekend was going to be the weekend we found a house–in order to fully embrace the mindset, I had to dress the part–right?
Ok, back to the major event. The afternoon ended when Chase proceeded to write the biggest check of our young lives:
On the drive back home, we decided we needed to celebrate such a major life decision so we headed to one of my favorite places on earth: HERSHEY!
Y’all the street lights look like kisses. For real.
How stinking cute it that?
We headed to the Hotel Hershey to have some dinner. I love this hotel. You walk into the lobby and it smells like magic.
I love going to Hershey on a Sunday because it is so quiet, especially in the winter.
Chase and I went to the Iberian lounge.
I was enticed by the details of “Chocolate Covered February.” They have a chocolate parade people!
Chase was too distracted by his soda.
The BEST part of the Hotel Hershey is the swank factor, demonstrated by my favorite things:
Teeny Tiny individually bottled KETCHUP! Loooove it!
The poor waiter (who was being trained last night) did not know what to do when he brought only one small bottle and I promptly requested, “I am going to need at least 10 more of these!” He took me VERY literally.
Chase and I closed the weekend watching an adorable little movie:
It is also streaming on Instant Netflix. It is a bit cheesy, but darling.
What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend? What has been the biggest “life decision” that you have ever made?
wow what a weekend, lots packed into it! Congrats on the house, I hope it all goes smoothly for you… the house is SO cute!!!
Thanks, Katie! I hope it goes smoothly, but I have a feeling that things will get a bit bumpy!
Awesome! Congrats, hope it works out!! Annnnd I love that you bought a “im buying a house outfit” hahaha!!
Thank you! And I very much appreciate your support for my shopping addiction. 🙂 🙂
How exciting!! Congrats on your big weekend! By the way, I always justify LOFT purchases, too! 😉
When I was in LOFT, I totally thought of you. I KNEW that you would completely support my decision. 🙂
Awesome!! Congrats on the house!!
Thanks, Lora!
CONGRATS!! Did you get it??? So excited for you!
We have not heard anything yet…However, our realtor said not to worry because sellers are actually 3 siblings that live in different states. Gah! I just want to know!
The house is super cute!
I’ve been to Hershey TONS of times, but never to Hotel Hershey! I must change that.
You HAVE to go to Hotel Hershey. They have several super cute places to eat. Also, the little chocolate boutiques in the hotel are amazing! There is even a cupcake shop!
Congrats on the house!! That hersheys place looks so cute, love the little bottles of ketchup! 🙂
Thanks so much! I am glad that you also appreciate the adorable nature of condiments!
Congratulations!! That is so exciting! I have never been to Hershey Park (so weird, I know), but I can only imagine how delicious it must smell…mmmm.
Thanks, Colleen! You will have to come visit… 🙂 Also, you definitely need to plan a trip to Hershey. They have a lovely outlet mall and the restaurants are amazing!
Congrats on the house! So exciting!
Thanks, Rebecca! I am sooo excited/nervous!
Yayyyy!! Fingers crossed!!
Sounds like a packed weekend. I usually 1) get tons of stuff done on the weekend or 2) am totally lazy. Haha. This past weekend, it was the latter.
I am jealous of your weekend! With all of the house hunting lately, I have not had a lazy weekend in months. I misssss those Saturdays and Sundays! I want a nap!
Congrats on the house! I know how totally nerve-wracking and SUPER exciting at the same time to purchase a home; my husband and I felt the same way 🙂 You will have to start doing some posts on decorating ideas!
Thanks so much, Michelle! I am totally LOVING your blog! It is giving me so many house ideas and inspiration! 🙂 I will definitely do some decorating posts. So fun!
Oh, I would TOTALLY buy a new outfit to buy a house!! Lol. I LOVE that! My biggest life decisions were to move to the Dominican Republic for 3 years.. and then to sadly move back so I could (happily!!) marry my husband. Lol.
Those are two seriously GIANT life decisions! I cannot even imagine! A house seems like a minor deal in comparison!
Congrats on the house decision! Love the fact that it has a sunroom!
Also, love those cute ketchup bottles and those kisses street lights! So adorable!!
Seriously, the sun room was a big part of my “Yes” decision! Haha! I have the most strange and impractical criteria ever. 🙂 You would LOVE Hershey. It is so fun and cute.
OMGGGG how awesomely exciting!!!!! What a huge milestone in your lives!! I hope it all works out perfectly for you two! That sun room is awesome 🙂
Thanks, Kathryn! I am VERY excited! I really want to know what the sellers are thinking! I am pretty awful at this whole patience thing!
Your house is soo adorable… what a great choice! And gas stove?! Heaven for foodies 🙂 Those mini bottles of ketchup are way too cute as well haha
Thanks, Tessa! The gas stove really put me over the top! I saw it and told Chase that we needed to put an offer in ASAP! haha!
The house is ADORABLE! I hope y’all get it!!
Thanks, Samantha! You must come visit! I am sure Ash needs to visit DC, right?!
Okay – I REALLY want to go to Hershey – where is it??? AND biggest decision = buying pooch. Is it weird tha thtat seems bigger than marriage….?!
It is about 15 miles outside of Harrisburg, PA. Emmy, you would ADORE it! The town literally smells like chocolate. They have a spa that does chocolate wraps and facials. It is a magical place. It is Disneyland for chocolate lovers!
I about had a panic attack when I wrote the check out for our offer on our house! It is such a HUGE decision! I’ll say a prayer and cross my fingers that it all works out for you— if it does, be prepared to sign about 10,000 more papers! 🙂
Thanks for the movie tip! I’ll have to add that one- I don’t mind cheesy 🙂
Yeah, the whole check thing made it REALLY real, really fast! Thank you for the prayers, we will need them!!! 🙂 Thank you, Julie!
Congrats on the house! Best part is pinteresting decorating ideas and making them yours 😉
Pinterest has made me SO excited to decorate!!! I literally have a million pins that I fully plan on using!
I love your signing for a house outfit! Lots of great stripes! I love Hershey so much! I am definitely a chocoholic so that is the place for me. The whole town smells like chocolate! I hear you can get chocolate spa treatments like chocolate massages!
I am DYING to get a chocolate facial! I am so obsessed with Hershey. I think I could go there every single weekend! I lovelovelove that it smells like chocolate!
hhee you’re so cute with your happy grin! woww I didn’t know there was such a place called Hershey Hotel! haha, to be honest I don’t like hershey chocolate but this place looks fun~And the house looks beautiful!! can’t wait to see updates 😀
