Happy House Weekend

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My weekend was a blend of grading dozens of papers, hanging out with our amazing little brother, travel and two very exciting events!

FRIDAY:

On Friday night, we had “Dinner and a movie” with out little brother.  He was showing us his dance moves before the movie–the boy has skills! (If you have ever thought of joining Big Brothers Big Sisters, DO IT!).

We rented the movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”

Does anyone else get REALLY emotionally engrossed in KID movies? I literally wanted to cry at certain parts. It definitely tapped into those middle school trauma memories! 🙂

SATURDAY:

Saturday was stuffed to the brim with paper grading. I squeezed in a run, but other than that, the entire day was work.  However, I let myself come up for air and take a couple hours off on Saturday night to go to this event:

We went to our first live “real/famous comedian”  show EVER. We drove down to Philly to see the show and it was hilarious. If you have never seen Kathleen’s stand-up, it streams on Netflix’s Instant Queue, so you need to go watch it ASAP!

SUNDAY

On Sunday Chase and I drove down to DC and actually made the most adult life decision ever…WE PUT AN OFFER ON A HOUSE.

This House:

Do not worry, it has a SUN ROOM

It also has a GAS stove (Woohoo!), tons of cabinet space in the kitchen, an adorable office with lots of windows, and the neighborhood is simply darling.

We then did all of the official stuff:

We signed around 1000 papers.

Confession: I may have gone to LOFT and bought an “I’m Going To Buy A House” outfit on Thursday.  I decided that this weekend was going to be the weekend we found a house–in order to fully embrace the mindset, I had to dress the part–right?

Ok, back to the major event.  The afternoon ended when Chase proceeded to write the biggest check of our young lives:

On the drive back home, we decided we needed to celebrate such a major life decision so we headed to one of my favorite places on earth: HERSHEY!

Y’all the street lights look like kisses. For real.

How stinking cute it that?

We headed to the Hotel Hershey to have some dinner. I love this hotel. You walk into the lobby and it smells like magic.

I love going to Hershey on a Sunday because it is so quiet, especially in the winter.

Chase and I went to the Iberian lounge.

I was enticed by the details of “Chocolate Covered February.”  They have a chocolate parade people!

Chase was too distracted by his soda.

The BEST part of the Hotel Hershey is the swank factor, demonstrated by my favorite things:

Teeny Tiny individually bottled KETCHUP! Loooove it!

The poor waiter (who was being trained last night) did not know what to do when he brought only one small bottle and I promptly requested, “I am going to need at least 10 more of these!” He took me VERY literally.

Chase and I closed the weekend watching an adorable little movie:

It is also streaming on Instant Netflix.  It is a bit cheesy, but darling.

What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?  What has been the biggest “life decision” that you have ever made?

Sounds like a packed weekend. I usually 1) get tons of stuff done on the weekend or 2) am totally lazy. Haha. This past weekend, it was the latter.

    • It is about 15 miles outside of Harrisburg, PA. Emmy, you would ADORE it! The town literally smells like chocolate. They have a spa that does chocolate wraps and facials. It is a magical place. It is Disneyland for chocolate lovers!
